international teen life project

In class Mr.Fisher gave us some questions to answer for our review on our ITL project.

Project- Teen Smoking

  1. What have you learned about your topic?

I learned lots from making this video. I learned that smoking kills the most people in the world. It kills more then AIDS, HIV, fires, car crashes, and many more. I also learned that people get very frustrated when they smoke and think they aren’t going to make it to collage and it makes them do bad things like they like to hide lots of things from their parents, steel smokes, get friends to buy them for them then they would get their friends in trouble to. Teens who smoke usually get very mad and get in fights with parents, isolate from friends and many more things.

  1. What have you learned about collaborating locally and internationally?

I learned that it is a lot harder to work internationally because if your making a video for example like we were doing, they can’t see how were making it and they don’t get to see what we are doing. It’s also the other way around. They could be the ones making the video and we wouldn’t be able to help other then the things we were assigned for. I also learned that working locally is a lot easier because we both get to decide on how were making it and if we need something we can go on separate computers and look for the things we need. Like when we were making the video, if we needed more then one thing, we would go on separate computers and we would each look for a different thing. But we didn’t do that. But I learned that it is lot more easier to work locally then internationally but it is a good experience to work internationally and meet new people and learn new and more things.

3. What would have made this project easier/better/more interesting?

Something that would have made this project easier would be if we could go on microphone or web cam or something like that so the other people would be able to make decisions too. They would also be able to help with the video and tell us what they don’t like or what needs to be changes. If we had more help like if they could see what we were doing and all, I think that would have made it better because it wouldn’t only be us that’s making the video like putting it all in order and what’s going in it.

  1. What have you learned about telling a story combining pictures/music/video/voice/text?

I learned that it is hard combining pictures, music, video, voice and text because you have to figure out where it all goes, you have to make sure that you can hear the voice over the music, same with the videos, and you have to learn so much more just to be able to run the video program. You also need to make sure the text is readable over the background. If it’s a poem, facts or something like that and you want it to slide in or up, you have to make the text readable, slow so people can read it and a colour that you can see over the background.
