Who should get it first?
There are more then 53,000 people in the U.S.A waiting for organ transplants. But there are only about 20,000 being done a year. If you need one it will cost $120,000. Just imagine how many people that need that and don’t have the money.
I found this post on Second Opinion and they wanted people to pick a topic below to write a comment about. They are:
A. Explain why or why not transplants should happen at all?
B. Who should get a transplant?
C. Should a young person receive a transplant before a older person?
For A. I would say transplants should happen because if they didn’t get one lots of people would die.
For B. I would say the people who don’t have enough money for it should do a fund raiser or they could get it done first because the rich people that already have that money and need it can wait because it won’t take them long to get the money. But if the people that already have the money can maybe help the people out that don’t have the money, most of the people would get a transplant if they really need one.
And for C. I think the younger person should get it first because they have a whole life ahead of them and it wouldn’t be right if the older person went first because you never know the younger ones couldn’t be able to get it later on. That is just harsh if a older person doesn’t let a younger person go before them because the older person would be greedy and already had most of a life. The kids would have lived how old they are for nothing because of the older ones.
What do you think?
